Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg has confirmed on Twitter that Star Wars Battlefront 3 will be playable first on Xbox One.

Of course, Aaron is alluding to Electronic Arts’ EA Access program, which gives Xbox One owners the chance to play EA’s games first on Xbox One, for a few days before everyone else gets to play.
The wording also reminds us that EA Access is different from the game launching on that platform first. Instead, what EA Access subscribers do get is a chance to play a limited six hour trial of the game within a five day window. Of course, EA will offer a discount if their subscribers opt to preorder from the EA Access trial.
With EA Access, Xbox One owners get just enough to be able to brag they played the game first, but not so much advantage that would make most non-subscribers jealous.
It should be interesting to see if Star Wars fans will be happy or not with this piece of news. EA has a contract guaranteeing they make ten years of Star Wars games. If fans agree to this now, this will be the case for every Star Wars game on eight gen, and beyond.
Are you OK with this arrangement? Will you get an EA Access subscription for it? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
Star Wars Battlefront 3 will be releasing late-2015 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
