Survarium is a STALKER-like first-person shooter that's been in open beta for quite some time now in Europe and Russia. This is set to change, as its developers at Vostok Games have announced that the international version of the beta will soon be open to North American gamers once it launches on Steam Early Access on April 2, with servers based in the US.
Unlike STALKER, Survarium is a distinctly multiplayer game and its beta is set to offer, at least for the time being, only the PvP portion of the game. Vostok says limiting the beta in this manner allows them to work on the engine stability and mechanics in a simple environment.
"However, this is not to say that this is all we have planned for the game," Vostok said in an announcement. "No doubt many of you are awaiting the much anticipated Freeplay mode, also referred to as PvE. This mode is in development. So please do not make the mistake in thinking that Survarium is just an PvP shooter. We have extremely ambitious plans for the future of the game and with your help, we can achieve them."
The game will go live on 1pm PDT and launches with three Steam-exclusive starter packs to get players into the game.
