Codemasters has tweeted out an image teasing the announcement of its next game, Overlord 3. The game is all but confirmed to be in development at the studio, but given the image, there's little chance that it could be anything else.
The UK-based studio put up the following image on its Twitter feed today with the caption "Ohhh shi……. RUNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!"and set up an additional Twitter account for Gnarl, the series' titular character.
While the game has yet to be officially announced, there's a good chance that more details will be revealed as the day progresses, so we'll have more news to share as it breaks.
Written by Tomb Raider's Rhianna Pratchett, the first Overlord game was released in 2007 for the Xbox and 360, and a PS3 version followed in the year after. The sequel, Overlord 2, came out in 2009 for all three platforms.
It remains to be seen what platforms Overlord 3 will be announced for, but I'm counting on it being a new-gen game. Stay tuned for more details. Here's hoping Pratchett's a part of the new game as well.
