Phil Spencer is the head of Microsoft's Xbox division and he's known for speaking his mind across platform lines. Today, he proved true to this reputation by throwing a bit of salt in the direction of Sony's latest exclusive, The Order: 1886.
First though, Spencer applauded Sony for "trying to do something new," and "not doing a sequel." He goes on, saying that Sony and Ready at Dawn have achieved some "really remarkable things."
Here's what Spencer had to say on The Order: 1886 and its controversy-ridden launch:
"[The Order: 1886 isn't going to be] the thing that people look back on and think that’s when the new-generation truly happened, when gaming became different.”
Spencer also went on to say that Sunset Overdrive didn't achieve what Microsoft wanted either, but that it was still a solid entry into the Xbox One game library.
Thanks, Paradiger.
