The Battle of the Five Armies will not be getting the LEGO games treatment—at least not in the form of a DLC, according to a statement from Warner Bros.
Last year, it was widely reported that The Battle of the Five Armies, the concluding entry to The Hobbit trilogy, would be getting released as a DLC for LEGO The Hobbit. It doesn’t look to be the case any more, as Warner Bros. has slashed expectations for the game by releasing a short, and simple statement about its non-development.
“The game provides an excellent set-up for the concluding chapter of Peter JAckson’s film, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies,” said a spokesperson to Eurogamer. “There are no plans to develop DLC based on the final film of the trilogy.”
If it’s ever to be developed, it’ll probably be released as its own game rather than as DLC to the preexisting title.
