Game Freak, the long time developer of Pokemon games for Nintendo systems, has announced digital 2D platformer Tembo the Badass Elephant for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
The game marks the first Game Freak title for a Sony platform since the original PlayStation and their first ever game for a Microsoft system. Game Freak's most recent non-Nintendo game was the Android port of Solitiba.
Tembo is to be published by Sega.
"We're delighted to be working with Game Freak to bring this heavyweight adventure to an audience we feel it will have relephants to," Sega executive John Clark commented. "It's a trunkful of fun and we think gamers are going to love it. Hopefully more than my rubbish elephant puns."
Game Freak has worked on every Pokemon game from Red and Blue on Game Boy to Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire on 3DS but their stated reason for Tembo not coming to Nintendo's Wii U is rather unlikely.
