Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain Release Date All but Confirmed

March 3, 2015 by Jacob Saylor

It looks like we will be getting a release date for The Phantom Pain.

Yesterday, we wrote that Kojima Productions would be making a big reveal, likely pertinent to Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain's release date. This announcement is currently set to be unveiled tomorrow morning – our previous article dictates that it would be this morning – and we have some pretty strong ideas as to what will be coming out of the woodwork.

Two different game retailers have both posted a release date for The Phantom Pain. They are also both posting the same release date, which leads us to believe that the announcement tomorrow morning will confirm what has been shown here:

Furthermore, Konami executive Tora Shiro responded to a question made on NeoGaf that gives even more credibility to this rumor. Someone asked, "Tora, do we have the green light to hype?" Tora responded with a GIF image that depicts a WWE wrestler saying "Yes!" over and over again.
