There is a brand new Pokemon game coming out next year from the development team Game Freak. This new upcoming installment is Pokemon Legends: Arceus, and so far, fans have been expecting an extensive open-world experience. However, that might not be the case. One user on Twitter, Joe Merrick, pointed out that the map could indicate that this game features hubs. So instead of a large open-world map, we’ll have larger areas to explore.
Before we get into this, we have to wait and see just what Game Freak is planning. Unfortunately, there hasn’t been too much unveiled for Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Still, Joe Merrick took to Twitter and highlighted the map. It looks like the image is for Obsidian Flatlands which highlights the region that seemingly players will be able to venture in. However, zooming into the map, it seems that there are just a few points of interest that players will want to visit.
That could be an indicator that this is just a hub area for players to explore. Think of this game like Monster Hunter, where the title throws players into more large areas to explore. From there, they will be able to roam around without any loading screens popping up freely. Afterward, you can load into the next area hub, where again, you’ll be able to explore without having any issues with loading screens. Currently, that’s the speculation going on right now for this game installment.
We don’t know just what the map will be like in terms of being open-world or limited to hubs. However, that information should come out fairly soon. After all, Pokemon Legends: Arceus is not set to launch until January 28, 2022, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch platform. Would losing out on an open-world experience be a deal-breaker for you when it comes to this upcoming Pokemon video game installment?
