Dissidia Final Fantasy Announced for Arcades

February 16, 2015 by Ian Miles Cheong

The fighting series from Square Enix lives.

Dissidia Final Fantasy lives in the form of an arcade title. The game was recently showcased during the Japan Amusement Expo in Chiba. The same video showcased to event attendees was also released to viewers on the Internet, which you can see below.

Square Enix describes the Dissidia Final Fantasy game, which happens to look a lot like FFXIV: A Realm Reborn, at least in the first video, as a 3v3 arcade fighter with characters from the entirety of the Final Fantasy series.

Characters that have been confirmed thus far include the Onion Knight from FF3, Y’Shtola from FF14: ARR, FF7’s Cloud Strife, Terra Branford from FF6, Lightning from FF13 and its sequels, and Warrior of Light from Final Fantasy.

Square Enix has announced plans to share more details about the upcoming game on April 10, when hopefully they’ll be announcing it for more than just arcade machines.
