Dark Souls 2’s Latest Update Adds New Boss, New Ending

February 7, 2015 by Ian Miles Cheong

The latest patch for Dark Souls 2 adds a new boss and a new ending.

From Software’s highly challenging action role-playing game Dark Souls 2 received a major patch yesterday that added a new boss and a new ending to the game. Available on the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3, the new patch adds a new boss in the form of the Scholar of the First Sin, who’s actually Lord Aldia.

After you enter the Throne of Want, and defeat Nashandra, you will have to fight Aldia, who is now the game’s final boss.

However, there’s a bit of a catch. For him to become the final boss, you will first have to confront him at the Dragon Shrine and answer ‘yes’ to all his questions.

After defeating the boss, you can now leave the throne room instead of sitting on the throne. Doing so will trigger a new ending cutscene for the game.

The following video shows what’s in store, if you’re not keen on experiencing it for yourself firsthand.
