Halo: The Master Chief Collection has been an enormous trial for developer 343 Industries. We gamers really appreciate what they are doing, trying to bring generations of Halo gamers together. That said, there's no excuse for the shoddy multiplayer system that 343 Industries has been trying to fix since the game's release. The problem should have been remedied before the title was finished. Months after the game's release, and we're still waiting for a fix.
In a statement made by 343 Industries, the release date for the patch was pushed even further back:
“As this update contains the biggest changes to the Matchmaking system yet, we’ve identified that additional time and testing is required. We are currently evaluating both timing and need for a CU beta with the Xbox One Preview program, as well as the final public release date in February.”
As you can see, there's no specific time or date mentioned in the statement. All that we've been given is a month-long window of 'sometime in February.' This isn't fair to gamers who spent their hard-earned cash on the game.
Keep pushing the patch date back and maybe we'll see a side-by-side release with Halo 5: Guardians.
