Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance was hailed by mixed reviews during its 2013 release. Since then, Kojima Productions has been quiet regarding the franchise, though a sequel has been confirmed.
Many were expecting some sort of teaser at this year's Taipei Games Show, which happened over this past weekend. A number of publications had been rumor-mongering with an image that was recently published by Sony that seemed to channel the spirit of Metal Gear Rising 2:
It would appear that all of this was just conjecture, though. There was no sighting of Metal Gear Rising 2 at the Taipei Games Show, and Goeff Keighley recently published a tweet debunking any hope for a teaser:
"Slice that rumor: No Metal Gear Rising 2 tease at Taipei games show. Spoke to
@Ken1555 from@Kojima_Pro_Live, it is not true."
There should be more news pertinent to the game out soon, but The Phantom Pain is currently the focus of Metal Gear Solid development at the moment. Though Metal Gear Rising 2 would be developed by an entirely different studio, it seems like there would be a conflict of interest in the marketing department if both games were vying for gamers' attention at the same time.
