Final Fantasy 15 will finally be making its way into gamers' living rooms later this year. There's no specific release date currently out, but we can hope – without delays – that we'll be able to get our hands on it by the holidays.
Some new information regarding the game has been released, most of which sheds some light on the technical aspects of Final Fantasy 15:
- The engine that Square Enix is using, Luminious Studio, is being developed simultaneously with Final Fantasy 15.
- Final Fantasy 15 will run natively at 1080p and feature thirty frames per second.
- There will be up to 5 million polygons on screen at any given time.
- Characters in Final Fantasy 15 will have around 100,000 polygons.
The polygon statistic is pretty tremendous. For comparison's sake, Final Fantasy 13 on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 featured characters who had around 20,000 polygons. It's going to be an enormous jump in graphical capability when Final Fantasy 15 finally comes out.
