What does Naughty Dog have to say about 1080p / 60FPS for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End? Director Bruce Straley says he can let go of 60FPS.
He brought it up when asked about the game running on 30FPS. In actuality it is running a little above that, and the team is dedicated to the game’s performance. In this context, if the game is not up to snuff at 60 FPS, they will prioritize the experience.
Naughty Dog had previously indicated that they are planning to go for 1080p / 60FPS for all the games that they are making for 8th generation, but at least this should be a guarantee that they won’t be pushing the limits if it isn’t possible.
As for now, the latest demo of the game was running at 37 FPS, so Naughty Dog may be a long way from optimizing to 60FPS.
How do you feel about this statement from Naughty Dog? Would you rather they delay the game to reach 60FPS without compromises, or try some other workaround? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will be released exclusively on PS4 this year.
