In an effort to continue expanding their digital offerings, today Nintendo has announced that Wii U users will now be able to download select Wii titles through the Wii U eShop.
The first game available for purchase is Super Mario Galaxy 2, which was released today immediately following the Nintendo Direct livestream presentation at the introductory price of $9.99. It will be followed by Punch-Out!! on January 22, and the Metroid Prime Trilogy on January 29. For one week following the release of each, they will be on sale at half their retail price.
More titles are promised for the future, presumably on a weekly basis, raising the question: what games from the Wii would you like to see revived on the Wii U? Personally I think MadWorld needs a revival and Muramasa: The Demon Blade deserves a bigger fanbase. We'll see what they have in store! In the digital store that is. Ugh that was terrible.
