Whenever there is a crowdfunding campaign for a new videogame, it typically targets PC platforms first, followed by current consoles and mobile devices. How often is it that you see a campaign for a homebrew, i.e. a new game for a much older platform? Lo and behold, here's the Indiegogo page for CollectorVision Games' Justice Beaver, an all-new title for Super Nintendo!
Justice Beaver is based Rick Dangerous, a 1989 platformer for various gaming computers such as Amiga and Commodore 64. You can think of Justice Beaver as an unofficial sequel, only with different characters, new graphics, new level designs, and other features. CollectorVision Games has an actual SNES cartridge mold in order to press fresh SNES carts to house the final product, which will come in your choice NTSC-U, NTSC-J, or PAL region formats. And if the $30K stretch goal is met, the game will even be ported to Game Boy Advance!
The Justice Beaver Indiegogo is currently at just under 70% of its $20K base goal with 25 days left in the campaign. If you are interested in funding a brand-new game for a console that's been dead for nearly two decades, toss in your two cents!
