The Razer Black Widow Chroma is getting a new Chroma configurator, thanks to an upcoming free software update.
For the uninitiated, the Razer Black Widow Chroma is a premium mechanical keyboard, that features Razer’s mechanical switches, designed exclusively for gaming and giving you optimal speed and responsiveness. Each individual switch can handle 60 million keystrokes, so you shouldn’t hesitate to play rough.
To add to this, the Black Widow Chroma features premium backlighting. Each key can be individually programmed, across 16.8 million color options. You can show off with the Chroma’s multiple color options, or make it useful with reactive backlighting (keys light up when pressed for feedback) or backlit templates, for FPSes, MOBAs, even individual games like DOTA 2.
So, what does the Chroma configurator do? Users will now be able to program the Chroma’s backlighting. Users can choose what areas to light, designated as key zones, what lighting effect is used in each zone, and even to set up multiple layers of different kinds of zones.
The update will go live tomorrow, January 6, 2015.
