Sony's online component, the Playstation Network, has been the center of a lot of attention. When the Playstation 3 was Sony's front-runner, many argued that the service just wasn't good enough. They were, in many ways, correct. Microsoft's competing service, Xbox LIVE, was leaps and bounds better than the Network. That said, Sony has been offering gamers much stronger incentives to join up lately. There are free games being offered monthly, and while these become unplayable after you unsubscribe from the service, a subcription only runs you about $60 a year, which comes out to about five dollars a month.
Just before New Year's, Sony has revealed the games and offerings for January's Playstation Plus user base. You can expect to see Prototype 2 and Ducktales: Remastered on the Playstation 3. For the PSVita, look out for Whoa Dave and Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition. For the Playstation 4, there's Infamous: First Light and The Swapper.
This line-up is currently only confirmed for Europe, but there's no reason for us to believe that it won't be the same for users residing in North America. We'll find out for sure on January 6, when the games go live on Playstation Network.
