Nintendo’s Deluxe Digital Promotion Ends Tomorrow, December 31

December 30, 2014 by Tony Ponce

You’ll have until March 31, 2015, to exchange your points for eShop credit.

The clock is ticking! Tomorrow, December 31, 2014, is the final day to use Nintendo's Deluxe Digital Promotion. If you have any Wii U eShop games you'd like to buy, now would be the time to snatch them up and earn credit.

The Deluxe Digital Promotion was launched alongside the Wii U as an incentive for new console buyers to spring for the 32GB Deluxe model over the 8GB Basic. Whenever you made purchases on the Wii U's eShop, you would earn 10% back in points, i.e. one point for every 10 cents. Once you accrued 500 points, you could cash them in for $5 in eShop credit. It was a great way to encourage heavy buyers to use Nintendo's digital storefront more often.

The promotion was always planned to end on the last day of 2014, but many Wii U owners had hoped Nintendo would extend it. No such luck, so better make use of it while you still can. Although you won't earn any more points after tomorrow, the points you have earned will sit in the system until March 31, 2015. You have until that day to make your final exchanges for eShop credit.
