Easily one of the most anticipated video game titles to hit the marketplace in 2020 was Cyberpunk 2077. CD Projekt Red was hyping up this game for years, and when it finally did release into the market, it was full of bugs. Fans were quick to rip this game apart, and since the release, CD Projekt Red had been working on several other updates. Some of the content and additions that fans have taken up with actually came from mods. Now it looks like some modders were hired under CD Projekt Red.
Cyberpunk 2077 fans have been going through the game since December of 2020. While the latest 1.3 updates brought out a few pieces of free DLC, nothing notable has emerged yet. As a result, some fans are finding a reason to visit Night City once again with the help of modders. Unfortunately, the modding support has been slowly coming along since the game didn’t have official modding support. Still, some creative minds were able to develop a means to add mods and deliver content into the game.
This has sparked the attention of CD Projekt Red, and apparently, there are a few modders that CD Projekt Red picked up. According to the reports, this hire will focus on the Cyberpunk 2077 backend and modding support. That should allow more creative freedom for players. Mods could add many interesting aspects to the game, not only from new items and visuals but even quests. Unfortunately, it’s likely a long way out before we see an official mod support system get added into Cyberpunk 2077.
Regardless, fans who want some new content will likely see some bountiful options online down the road. Right now, Cyberpunk 2077 is still receiving updates, and we know that CD Projekt Red is working on expansions. These will be updates that add new quests and storylines for players to go through. Unfortunately, we’re not sure just how far away these expansions are at the moment.
