Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel has definitely been the lowest visibility-wise among the series' games. It failed to really innovate and add to the franchise's complex formula. Though, the old adage comes to mind: "If it's not broken, why fix it?" We can't judge the game too harshly, as it's still quite the awesome experience.
One thing Borderlands fans have become accustomed to is a really diverse array of downloadable content post-launch. Today, it's been announced that The Pre-Sequel will be getting its second DLC package before the holidays arrive. Entitled The Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack: The Holodome Onslaught, this content should arrive on December 16.
The DLC will bring Vault Hunters Gaige and Axton back into the mix. Players should remember these characters from The Pre-Sequel's main storyline. There will also be a new challenge area provided by the DLC, which will pit players against countless waves of enemies. Through this challenge mode, players will have access to new armor, weapons and enemy types.
This DLC package will be available free to holders of the Pre-Sequel Season Pass. Players who don't have the Season Pass can purchase the content individually for $9.99. With most Borderlands games, it's wise to buy into the Season Pass, given the large amount of DLC content that is produced for the titles.
A new patch will also be out next week that brings a third playthrough of the game known as 'Ultimate Vault Hunter' mode. This will feature increased difficulty, as well as the ability to reset campaign progress whenever the player chooses.
