Since Surgeon Simulator arrived last year, many developers tried to hop on the simulator bandwagon with less-than-stellar results — an unfortunate truth that game critic Jim Sterling knows all too well! But while those pretenders were clogging up Steam, Surgeon Simulator dev Bossa Studios was working on its next big title. Tomorrow, you'll be able to give I am Bread a proper go when it arrives on Steam Early Access.
As the name implies, this is a "bread simulator" in which you literally become the bread and must transform yourself into toast. How you go about that is a little tricky, as the toaster is not necessarily right by the broad loaf. By operating each corner of a bread slice as though this were a game of QWOP, you must navigate the house to find prime toasting locations, such as a stove top, a hot iron, or a hair dryer. The bread has some adhesive properties, which will allow you to scale cabinets and open doors. It's a food adventure the likes of which have never been seen.
I am Bread will be ready for early players on December 3, with the full release possibly coming later this month.
