It's no secret that Assassin's Creed Unity has been something of a mess since it launched, with the latest update fixing a staggering 300 issues affecting the game.
To make amends for this less than optimal performance, Ubisoft has announced that they are cancelling the game's season pass and will make planned future DLC free for everyone.
Players who bought a season pass will be offered their free choice of another Ubisoft game. The titles on offer are The Crew, Far Cry 4, Watch Dogs, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag, Rayman Legends, and Just Dance 2015. Ubisoft says details of these games can be acquired will be detailed shortly.
On the Ubiblog, Ubisoft Montreal CEO Yannis Mallat wrote "To show our appreciation for your continued support, we’re making the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Unity Dead Kings DLC free for everyone. For Season Pass holders, we will also offer the choice of one additional game from a selection of Ubisoft titles for free."
Mallat adds that the studio is committed to fixing additional issues with the game. Season pass holders can find out more information in this FAQ.
The season pass is no longer on sale, but those who've bought it will have access to additional content, including spin-off game Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China.
