Have you ever wanted to sit down and just make games for hours on end? Well, many of us can't do that, unless we've gone through a number of college courses pertinent to game development. There's also a lot of time and dedication that goes into learning the skill outside of schooling. Most people don't really have what it takes to earn their stripes in creating video games, as the industry is so saturated and cutbacks happen nearly all the time. Landing a job at a first-party studio or a larger third-party like Rockstar Games is a veritable dream for most aspiring developers.
For the rest of us, there's video games that let us create other video games. Developed by Unknown Worlds Entertainment, Future Perfect is a title that focuses on the use of modifications. Specifically, it's about "discovering, creating and playing games online with your friends." The game is currently being offered through Steam Early Access, so it's actually not even finished yet. Though, the developers would be more than happy to have you involved in the development process.
Unknown Realms described their in-game level editor as such: "The interface is easy enough for complete beginners to use, but also supports advanced capabilities. It is possible to import art and create gameplay scripts. In Future Perfect, editing isn’t a single player affair. Live editing during play is not only possible, it is encouraged!"
They also issued a warning regarding the game's unfinished state. "You should only buy Future Perfect right now if you like playing in, breaking, and messing about with unfinished games," the studio warned. "Future Perfect is not a finished game."
