For this week, Sakurai didn’t seem to have much left to share about Super Smash Bros for Wii U, but there are still some tidbits for curious fans.
On Tuesday, he shared a goofy little pic for levity, which could also be taken as an endorsement of collecting trophies and using them in Photo Mode. Two Wii Fit Trainer and one Peach trophy was used to depict a scene where Trainer vaults over Peach’s car while she is driving.
On Wednesday, he shared a fun tidbit about Stadium mode: everything in that mode can be played co-op. For example, in Home-Run Contest, you can each take turns on the Sandbag. Of course, what this means is you each only get one turn. The order you get to play is determined randomly.
Yesterday, Masterpieces received the spotlight. As we already know, this mode shows off the different games the fighters come from, and some of them even have demos of the games that link to the VC digital versions on the eShop. What we didn’t know is some of them start midway through the game, and some of the Masterpieces even have prepared save data. Interestingly enough, they featured some Game Boy games as well, including the Game Boy version of Dr Mario, as well as Kirby’s Dream Land.
Sakurai also explained how the Wii U and 3DS versions connect together, and it really is easy as pie. The Wii U version has a 3DS controller activation screen, and in turn, the 3DS version will open a screen for you to connect with the Wii U, and then ask if you’d like to copy your customized characters over.
Of course, today Sakurai simply posted about the Wii U release, and told all fans to have fun.
Did you get your copy of Super Smash Bros for 3DS or Wii U yet? Did you get any amiibo along with it? Don’t hesitate to let us know in the comments.
