Devolver Digital has come out with a public test release for Croteam’s first person perspective puzzler adventure game The Talos Principle on Steam.
Perhaps recognizing how the game is a hard sell, the move was calculated to act as a demo of sorts to let Steam users give it a try, but they are also using it for testing stress and compatibility.
Similar to Myst, you wake from a deep sleep to find yourself surrounded by ancient ruins. You encounter and solve puzzle after puzzle, prodded by your creator to uncover the biggest mysteries that surround, which are the mysteries about you.
The final game will have 120 puzzles upon release in December 11, and the public test allows you to try out four of those puzzles, completely for free.
The game apparently literally went through virtual playtesting using the both referred to in the above trailer, with 15,000 hours of accumulated automated playtesting time.
