Despite requests to make a sequel to the critical darling Papers, Please, creator Lucas Pope was far more interested in pursuing a new project. His latest, Return of the Obra Dinn, is a first-person point-and-click adventure in which you must board the titular merchant ship after it had been lost at sea for six years in order to discover what happened to its crew. The game adopts a monochrome color scheme using heavy dithering — it's a bit jarring, but you can't say it isn't intriguing.
You can currently download an extremely early build for either Windows or OS X. It's rather empty and may not run properly, but if you want to see what kind of progress has been made so far, you are free to do so.
No officialy release date fr Return of the Obra Dinn has been announced, but keep your ears to the ground if you enjoy what you experience with the demo.
