Destiny Vault Of Glass Guide

September 21, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

Top players took Vault of Glass quickly. Now, this guide will allow you and your friends to beat it too.

This is a short guide on how to get through Destiny’s first Raid DLC, the Vault of Glass.

As you may have guessed, there are several phases to get through this raid. The idea is to anticipate and manage enemy respawns in certain areas while building, attacking, or acquiring other elements.

There are two actual bosses, the Templar and Atheon. You will acquire an item called the Relic after defeating the Templar, and you will need to use the Relic to defeat Atheon.

Success and failure in the Vault of Glass is, as it is in most of Destiny, a matter of assigning roles to each player, and making sure each player consistently does his or her job. Playing maverick takes a backseat to being a good team player.

Spoilers follow below.

Once you get the Relic, you and your teammates need to think long and hard on who will carry it. It cannot be carried by anyone below level 26, because it raises the chances those players will die very rapidly.

The Relic enables several attacks.

Pressing L1 creates a cleansing shield that removes penalties and debuffs and protects players, regenerating their health and saving them from the brink of death.

Pressing R2 produces a shield charge bash that hits a single target for 2000+ damage. This allows the Relic holder to regenerate the most Super Energy possible.

Pressing R2 with the Jump button produces a ground slam, area of effect attack. It has a small leap animation.

Pressing L1 and R1 together creates a Ranged Super that removed the shield from the Templar. You can use the R2 shield bash to regenerate the Super quickly, and it has area of effect damage. This super is the only way to make the Templar vulnerable.

You can get more details on how to take on the Vault of Glass here.
