Sony Computer Entertainment America has finally confirmed the US release date for Bloodborne. The game comes to PlayStation 4 in the West on February 6, 2015. (Edit: We originally posted the wrong date of February 26, 2015)
Bloodborne is a coproduction of FromSoftware and Sony Computer Entertainment Japan, set in the Victorian era and boasting a gothic horror theme. Among its features are fast and aggressive combat, RPG character creation and progression, and both asynchronous and cooperative gameplay.
There will also be a special collector’s edition available. This will come with a steelbook collector’s case, a coffeetable book featuring the game’s concept art, and the complete soundtrack. Bloodborne Collectors Edition will be published in limited qualities and will only come to select retailers.
Sony has also revealed a new preorder bonus if you preorder the game via the PlayStation Store. They explained that there are special characters in the game called Messengers. These Messengers come from the nightmare world and are an element of the game’s asynchronous online gameplay features. If you preorder Bloodborne via the PlayStation Store, you can get an alternate skin for these Messengers. Note that PlayStation Store preorders are for the online version only. You will not be able to preorder the Collectors Edition on it.
