Bioware has been teasing more details for Dragon Age 3 Inquisition customization elves.
Bioware Edmonton Development Manager Ryan Treadwell shared two new sneak pics of what Elven Inquisitors can look like. It has to be said; the level of customization here clearly rivals that of The Sims 4. It might even be at the level of professional 3D modeling software.
Of particular interest here are how the male model captures subtleties in the skin tones. For the female model, we see the very believable tattoo render, and even more impressively, the freckle patterns that run across her face. The pains taken to capture these details indicate the level of care Bioware has taken with character customization.
Writer Mike Laidlaw has commented further on the shared images. Pay attention to how both models had different shapes for ears. Mike is hinting at customization for those elf ears as well.
Bioware has also revealed more about the game mechanics. They shared information on shield and sword moves.
· Lunge and Slash
This is a two part strike. If your initial lunge connects, you hit the opponent with a spinning slash strike.
· Payback Strike
This attack comes from the precondition of having taken damage. You will recover immediately and strike back against your enemies with a strong attack.
· Shield Bash
This one is a nice offensive strike that can do extra damage if you hit your opponent while he or she is guarding.
· Shield Wall
This is an active ability, so you need to repeat the action every time to receive its sustained effects. In this case, you keep blocking to increase defense. This comes at the expense of your stamina, as well as your movement speed.
Dragon Age 3 Inquisition will be released on October 7, 2014, for Windows, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4.
