Dicetiny Brings Board Games, Cards And Video Games Together

September 9, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

Korean developer Fakedice will put the game up on early access this winter.

Korean developer Fakedice has conceived of a new game to satisfy the board game, card game, and video game enthusiast in you. Introducing Dicetiny.

Dicetiny is a 4 player cooperative game with an RPG theme. You get to choose between four classes, each with their own roles and abilities. There is a human warrior, an elf mage, a dwarf cleric, and a gnome rogue. You move around a simple board, and battle monsters and take down huge bosses. Each player rolls the dice to move, and then draws a card to take action. Available actions include attacking, running, healing, transporting, shooting arrows, calling meteors, etc. Each character has a unique deck of his or her own. The board comes up with random events, such as quests, traps, or treasure. Clearing boards rewards you with one random card drop. Ultimately you will be collecting cards and building decks.

Dicetiny uses a distinct board game aesthetic, with your characters and enemies appearing as printed out pieces of cardboard, placed on stands. It is frankly an adorable look, and one that could give it appeal to a casual audience.

Fakedice will be releasing a beta of Dicetiny this coming winter on PC. You can check out a trailer below.
