A fan has made a comparison video between NBA Live 15’s and NBA 2K15’s trailers, and it’s really hard to be objective.
NBA 2K15 very clearly outclasses NBA Live 15 in practically every way. If anything, I would say the one thing Live has going for it is picking 2Chainz for its trailer. If you put a magnifying glass to the music, however, you would be hard put to complain about Pharrell’s curation for 2K15. Pharrell has guaranteed 2K15 fans will get a more diverse, and very brilliantly put together, tracklist for their game.
It really should not need to be pointed out either, but NBA 2K15 also outclasses Live in the graphics department. The same amazing beard technology that will makeWWE 2K15 look peerless has made NBA 2K15 the superior visual spectacle. Of course, 2K Sports went the extra mile with presentation, bringing not only Kevin Durant, but Shaq and his ‘Yakkem’ phrase to the trailer.
As some fans point out in the comments, though, what really matters is the gameplay, and neither trailer really gave us a good look at 5v5. Still, if last year’s offerings from 2K Sports and EA are any indication, fans are more willing to give 2K a chance than EA.
I will say in EA Tiburon's defense that NBA Live 15 definitely shows a lot of improvement from its predecessor, and if they can't match 2K in the graphics department, they definitely have a fighting chance on gameplay.
NBA Live 15 will be released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this year. NBA 2K15 will be released October 7 on Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
