When it comes to EA there was a bit of uneasiness when it was unveiled that they owned an exclusive rights deal to develop Star Wars video games for a determined amount of time. That deal has become void now with Ubisoft developing their own unique Star Wars video game from Massive Entertainment. Likewise, EA didn’t have as many hits that fans would have liked. Still, there was one particular game IP that took fans by surprise in just how great of a game it turned out to be.
After Respawn Entertainment unveiled that they were working on a Star Wars video game it started to become hyped up. It was a single-player narrative-focused title set shortly after the events of Star Wars Episode III. The Empire had quickly crushed Jedi leaving those that survived to disconnect from the Force and live in secrecy. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was a game that followed a former Padawan who never completed their training before their master was destroyed.
It was a game full of surprises as players embarked on a journey to finish their training and attempt to overthrow the Empire. Meanwhile, the gameplay was a bit like a Souls game in that there was more focus on dodging or counters as you battled against enemies. If you went into this game thinking that you’re already a strong Jedi then you were in for a shock because a good part of the game was training yourself up to deal with the enemy or thinking outside the box with a series of puzzles.
Of course, while Ubisoft might be developing its own unique Star Wars game, it doesn’t mean EA is done making its video game installments. Most fans are assuming that a new installment would be coming out for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order simply because of how well the game was received. Recently, Game Informer made a note that it might be a good time to revisit the game before EA Play Live hits this month, July 22, 2021. That’s when fans took notice of the EA Star Wars Twitter account retweeting the article online which had plenty of fans thinking that this is the start of a tease for an upcoming sequel. For now, all we can do is wait for the EA Play Live to take place and hope we see some kind of a sequel announcement take place.
