The sixth and latest game update for Titanfall adds a pilot-only skirmish mode that allows players to do battle amongst each other without the interference of AI bots or even Titans, effectively reducing the game experience to something akin to Call of Duty with jetpacks and wallrunning.
The game’s developer Respawn Entertainment revealed the changes through an announcement on Thursday.
The new Pilot Skirmish mode will be among the most significant changes being added in Titanfall’s Game Update 6, which releases soon. The game’s new mode will bring a conventional multiplayer experience to the game, with no Titans or AI, with all fighting to take place amongst the player-controlled pilots.
Additionally, t he popular Marked for Death mode will be added to the game’s permanent listings, along with its own listing and custom load-outs.
Other new features included in the update are a new Burn Card, auto fill options for the Burn Card menu for players too lazy to select them by themselves, and new features for colorblind players.
Finally, the update will include a host of improvements and optimizations for the game’s FX and matchmaking for smoother gameplay, and faster searching, improved team balancing, and increasing the likelihood of finding full games and drastically lowering the chance of having lopsided matches.
