2K Sports has shared two new teasers for NBA 2K15.
The first teaser is an Instagram from cover star Kevin Durant. This 15 second clip is the first time 2K Sports publicly shared actual gameplay footage. There are multiple points of interest, including unique crowd members (one spectator actually holds up a giant foam head), highly detailed graphics, player likenesses, and realistic camera cuts for slam dunks.
The second teaser is a two minute cinematic trailer, and it almost seems like a TV commercial for the actual NBA. Not only do we see several basketball teams and superstars in action, but we also see cheerleaders, mascots, and an even better view of the unique crowds. Even NBA on TNT hosts Ernie Johnson and Shaquille O’Neal appear to introduce and cap off the trailer.
2K Sports took it further than that. On Twitter, gameplay producer Scott O’Gallagher revealed that they have fixed two of the most abused and unpopular game mechanics in the NBA2K games. Players used to be able to cheese their way in the game by taking charges, usually because they cannot play defense. 2K Sports has dealt with these issues, so they are no longer factors in NBA 2K15.
NBA 2K15 will be released in October 7 on Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
