Unlike Call of Duty, Battlefield doesn’t feature a new video game release each year. This makes every new installment to the Battlefield franchise a hyped and anticipated one. Fans can’t wait to see just what changes or alterations the development studio made for the next thrilling installment and as a result, there’s bound to be plenty of newcomers that join into the mix of adopters as well. We recently got the unveiling of the next Battlefield video game and it came with a bit of a surprising twist.
Battlefield 2042 is the next mainline installment to the franchise and it will part away from a single-player campaign. Instead, the development studio opted to bring out a new game that was purely focused on multiplayer. This might be a big hit for some players but those that enjoy a narrative campaign that they can play at their leisure could find themselves passing Battlefield 2042. With that said, this announcement of a multiplayer-focused game does bring out a question as to what will be included for online gameplay.
A new rumor is circulating online from a leaker Tom Henderson is suggesting that some previous maps from the Battlefield franchise might be included. This would give some veteran fans a new reason to jump online and play some of these maps once again as they’ll be remastered for the modern title release. Along with the maps, you’ll get remastered vehicles and weapons from that particular map as well so you’re going to be playing a game that might feel just as it did when they were first released.
Of course, this is just a rumor and we’re waiting on the official announcement to come out. Are you hoping to see a Battlefield 2042 come out with remastered maps? We should know more soon as the game itself is set to launch on October 22, 2021, for the PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S platforms.
