Ubisoft has said that PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 title Assassin's Creed Rogue could make it's way to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One at some point in the future.
Speaking to OXM, Ubisoft Sofia producer Ivan Balabanov said, "It's too early to discuss this subject. Right now Unity is our game for new generation consoles."
Assassin's Creed Unity is coming to PC, PS4, and Xbox One on October 28th while Rogue launches on November 11th. Ubisoft Sofia previously ported Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation, originally a PlayStation Vita title, to PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
Yesterday, producer Karl von der Luhe commented:
"There are the hardcore Assassin's Creed fans that are happy to play two games and there are of course many fans who have not yet made that financial move to go to next-gen. And these are the guys that we're really catering for – they're thankful for the fact that they will have a compelling Assassin's Creed game to play on either their Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3."
Rogue follows the story of Assassin turned Templar Shay Cormac and is set 20 years after the events of Assassin's Creed 3 during the Seven Year War. The game includes areas such as New York and the North Atlantic Ocean.
Haytham Kenway is leader of North America's Templars in the game and accompanies Cormac often and the game ultimately ties into Unity though it's not yet clear how. It will also be the first game in the series since 2010's Assassin's Creed Brotherhood not to feature multiplayer.
