A German reporter at gamescom has revealed details from the behind-closed-doors demo for Bloodborne at the show on Reddit.
The regain-system (which grants players HP back when attacking a monster, right after being injured) will probably not be in PVP. This mode will focus on the skill of the players that are fighting each other. From Software would not share details on how they aim to do that, as they are testing out various systems but it will be similar to like Dark Souls 2's invasions.
The armoury has been slightly overhauled but stat customization and weaponry will probably make a return with a few tweaks and some new features. The German reports says "there will be lots of different clothing and armour throughout the game."
While the armoury is back, it looks like magic won't be, "As far as I could tell: No. You got weapons now with different ammunition. No more magic."
In the demo shown there two characters players could choose but From Software said there will be a wealth of customisation options and RPG elements so you'll feel like "every character is one you made yourself".
Players will have a bonfire which they return to when they die, "This is what it seems like at least (even though he started out at the beginning of the level with no 'bonfire' in sight)".
Sony revealed a gameplay trailer for Bloodborne at their gamescom media briefing earlier this week and announced that it will be released "in the next six months." You can find out plenty more about the game on the Reddit thread.
