Metro Redux promises to reinvigorate the Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light experiences for audiences both old and new with fresh visuals and gameplay improvements that add to the fidelity of the games.
To that end, the game’s publisher at Deep Silver has released a new six-minute trailer that provides a walkthrough the games’ environments, showcasing what’s changed and what players can expect to encounter in the newly ‘refurbished’ titles.
Most noticeably, Metro 2033 Redux sports new global lighting and improvements to level geometry that improve the environments of the world—making them feel more cold and vastly more daunting than ever before. The game’s combat mechanics have also been enhanced with improvements from Last Light. The game’s weapon handling and AI is noticeably better.
In addition to what you’d expect from a digital remaster, the game also features new hidden areas and encounters, and a rescripted story with fewer load screens.
Metro Redux will release on August 26 in the US and August 29 in Europe as a package deal in retail stores. Metro 2033 Redux and Metro: Last Light Redux will also be available separately from digital distributors.
