We have new details for WWE 2K15.
First off, regarding details on the roster. We are receiving sketchy reveals on this end from IGN, who received exclusive coverage from 2K Games, but we do have a shortlist of wrestlers. None of these names are confirmed yet, but they were likely to appear anyway, and this only makes things that more likely.
So, with Bray Wyatt confirmed, it’s most likely his followers in the Wyatt Family, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan, are making the cut with him. Also likely to come with them is Curtis Axel.
Interestingly, our source believes Adam Rose and Bo Dallas may be confirmed, but only to Playstation 4 and Xbox One. His rationale is that these NXT wrestlers are exclusive to the higher end consoles because they would not have the time to make them for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. Of course, as the comments to that thread were more than happy to point out, older games (you can even go back to the N64 for this one) were capable of having even more wrestlers in the roster. I personally think this theory is hogwash myself but it was shared here for your consideration.
Now, let’s talk about gameplay. Considering Visual Concepts is working with Yuke’s on this game for the first time, so many changes would be coming.Hey guys, so that prior rumor was not true after all, and both Yuke's and Visual Concepts are working on this one with 2K Sports!
Now, match duration would be affected by factors like fatigue, stamina, and momentum. Ring psychology and different fighting styles (brawlers vs grapplers vs technical wrestlers) will also be new factors. The core has apparently been completely reworked as well, although details are scarce.
Lastly, 2K Games is putting their touch on their newly acquired franchise with MyCareer taking the place of the game’s previous career mode. 2K Games plans are to make the game’s career mode more in depth and connected to storyline, which fits WWE to a tee.
Another great fit between 2K Sports and WWE is authenticity. 2K Sports has been very good at making their NBA 2K games accurate to real life, and WWE seems set to receive the same treatment. There will be enhancements to how the wrestlers are portrayed, including gestures and body language. Over 50 days were invested in motion capture, and will have 5 times as much animations, and four times as much commentary.
Now, here’s the thing. MyCareer is apparently going to be next gen only, which some fans tout as proof the game will be truly next-gen. However, as I said before, if you are a lifelong fan of wrestling games, you know that they have always been known for being filled to the brim with content. If 2K Sports really is trimming down PS3/Xbox 360 features in favor of PS4/Xbox One, wrestling fans will not take to it kindly.
WWE 2K15 will come October 28 to PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
