Straight out of Argentina comes a new indie looking for funding, both on Kickstarter and Steam Greenlight. Introducing Fallen: A2P Protocol.
In brief, developer Red Katana wanted to build their own take on the post apocalyptic future turn based strategy game, as inspired by games like Fallout, X-COM, and Shadowrun. They are only asking for $ 75,000, as it is a passion project they have already being self funding up to this point. Aside from funding, they have gone to crowdsourcing to get fan feedback, so that they can help lead the devs into the right direction. They have been working on the game for a year now, are on Alpha, and if funded will be able to release it next year.
The scenario is a near future Earth, after the nation state structure collapses on the weight of a series of natural disasters. A2P Is a new energy source, controlled at large by a military-industrial conglomerate called GENKORP. A faction of revolutionaries, ARKANE, is opposed to the use of A2P, and is waging a guerrilla campaign against GENKORP. Some people are not allied with either faction, and, in the struggle to survive, have simply been labeled The Dust.
In terms of gameplay, Fallen: A2P Protocol promises elements like exploration, huge focus on tactical combat, resource management, destructible environments, dynamic weather, and of course, the requisite customizable characters and weapons, with character progression and weapon crafting as well.
Fallen: A2P Protocol is planned for PC, with hopeful ports to Mac, Linux, tablets, PS4, and Xbox One. You can check out their official Kickstarter pitch below, vote for Steam Greenlight here and fund it here.
