The Elder Scrolls Online is still not free to play, and chances of it going F2P are slim at best—at least in the short term—as it’s not even out yet for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
That being said, its developers aren’t anywhere close to “giving up” on the game, and have released a new update that brings the game up to version 1.3.3.
In this update, the game’s developers added armor dye stations where you can change the color of your armor with dyes you unlock through achievements. They’ve also added and improved many guild features including the addition of guild heraldry, guild traders, and improved guild management.
Another exciting change is the updates to the game’s campaigns in Cyrodiil. Implemented are new campaign options, each with their own rule set.
Alongside these new features, you’ll find many fixes to quests, combat, art, and audio. “We’re also continuing to work on the overall class balance, but are doing so carefully so as not to impact your build too much,” say the developers at Zenimax Online Studios.
The developers have added instant weapon swaps, allowing players to swap their weapons reliable and instantly. The previous delay when swapping has been reduced significantly, so swapping to your second ability set will be seamless and fast, making combat feel more responsive.
Additionally, there is a host of new emotes in the game:
