Gamestop has unveiled a new and exclusive Batman Arkham Armored Batmanfigure, to be produced by Diamond Select Toys.
The toy description explains that this is based on the Batman Arkham City Armored Edition version of Batman, which seems a little belated, but I doubt any fans will be complaining that it was even made. The toy stands 10.25 inches horizontally, and was sculpted by Dave Cortes. At this point, all 500 hand numbered pieces are probably sold out, but you can certainly try to get your own if you wanted to.
While Diamond Select does do DC toys, they are more closely associated with the Marvel license, so this was a bit of a surprise. But then again, perhaps that was precisely the reason why Gamestop commissioned them for a limited release.
Arkhamverse has taken this as proof that we will not be seeing any such toy for upcoming video game Batman Arkham Knight, at least not in the inevitable collector’s edition.
If you were looking for a Batman Arkham Knight toy, it won’t be as big, but Mattel did come out with a limited edition 4“ scale Batman and Batmobile pack. It was exclusive to SDCC, and quite pricey at $ 85, but if you were interested and willing to spring extra, there are bound to be some of these available secondhand now. As to why these were not bundled with the actual game, I would tell you to save up and hope for the best. After all, we still have a long way to go before the game’s release.
Batman Arkham Knight is coming 2015 to Windows, Playstation 4, and Xbox One.
