Electronic Arts has confirmed the release of Burnout Crash in August for the PSN and XBLA.

Publishing giant Electronic Arts has confirmed the release of Burnout Crash, which is set for release next month on the XBLA and PSN.

The top-down, Micro Machines-esque racing game will be Criteron's first downloadable title and its foray into a type of game different from what it normally does.

“Burnout CRASH! is a crazy mix of pinball and game shows,” said Richard Franke, Creative Director, Burnout CRASH! “We’ve evolved the core gameplay which everyone loved about Crash Mode, and expanded the whole experience using music, style and Autolog to create what we feel is the most mindless fun you can have on any gaming platform.”

While previously confirmed for a fall release date, the game will instead be pushed forward. Burnout Crash comes fully equipped with support for the Kinect in the XBLA version.
