Konami has announced their plans for Gamescom, and it seems that their presence will be a showcase of the famed FOX Engine. Both Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain and PES 2015 will be featured at the event.
Konami promises that fans will get to see the scale and ambition of Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain. Kojima and Konami have been talking up said scale for the better part of last year, and before that, so expectations are exceedingly high, but as always, Kojima often manages to keep exceeding those expectations.
Regarding the two games, Konami claims that we will see major advancements for them both. Their statement paints broad strokes, but they do talk up both brands as two of Konami’s biggest, and that they will be displaying, in particular, the commitment and energy Konami has brought to new formats.
Yes, it is all very vague, but I think what they are alluding to are improvements of the FOX Engine on the Playstation 4 and Xbox One. Of course, we are no strangers to these improvements at all. Kojima did release this famous comparison trailer (notably, forMetal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes) , but PES also received a similar comparison video, this time from a fan. So, we can look forward to more of the same, possibly a whole lot more than has been seen before.
PES 2015 is coming to Windows, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One in Autumn or Winter 2014. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain is coming to PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One in the first quarter of 2015.
