The Sims 4 developer Maxis appears to be developing a sandbox crafting game if a recent job listing is any indication.
Maxis is seeking a senior designer who's familiar with games such as LittleBigPlanet, Project Spark, and Minecraft.
The job listing confirms that the game is a “new, unannounced" Maxis project which is "being created at EA’s Redwood Shores, California Studio”.
This seems to suggest that EA is looking to capitalise on the success of games like Mojang's Minecraft and Media Molecule's LittleBigPlanet.
RPG elements including loot and crafting trees will feature in the game according to the listing, which seems to suggest that the title will be free-to-play with in-game monetisation options mentioned. According to the job post, the ideal candidate should have experience with MMOs and social systems.
EA calls the game a "unique, emerging IP," but based on what they're looking for, it seems that they're working on a title similar to Sony Online Entertainment's Everquest Next and Everquest Landmark.
The Sims 4 releases for PC and Mac on September 2nd.
