Mario Kart 8 continues its global domination unabated, but there's another new Mario Kart zooming by that you'd probably miss out on if we didn't tell you. It's Mario Kart GP DX, and it's coming this year to an arcade near you — if you still have any arcades near you, that is. They're kind of hard to find these days.
Mario Kart GP DX is the third entry in an arcade sub-series developed by Bandai Namco, all which have found their way onto American shores. Because of the Namco connection, both Pac-Man and Don-chan from the Taiko no Tatsujin rhythm series are playable racers. This installment features gliding and underwater racing like in Mario Kart 7 and 8, but it also has "Fusion Karts" in co-op mode. "Fusion Karts" is similar to the two-riders-per-kart mechanic in Double Dash!! on GameCube, in which one player is the driver and the other is the gunner.
You may have to look high and low, but if you keep at it, you might find a Mario Kart GP DX unit installed at a movie theater or Dave & Busters near you.
