It may take a while before Bethesda and Zenimax confirm that Fallout 4 even exists in this mortal plane, much less that it is in development. In the meantime, a fan has proposed a new gameplay feature for Fallout 4 that they could take from Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag.
That feature is, as some of you might have guessed, collecting sea shanties. This wasn’t necessarily a useful feature, but it’s a fun one, as your pirate crew could sing said shanties while you were out sailing.
As you can see in the video below, this is unironically a very popular part of Black Flag.
So, to translate that to Fallout 4, players could collect old records. They will then have three options:
1. They can sell them for caps or other things to collectors like Three Dog, to never hear again.
2. Sell these records to the radio stations, so that you can occasionally hear said songs from those stations in rotation.
3. Finally, you could keep the records for yourself, and play them as much as you would like.
In this way, Fallout fans will have one more thing to work towards, that will not necessarily serve the story of the game, or is a necessity in itself, but will be a fun addition that fans can look forward to.
By the way, if you are wondering how far gone we are from getting an official Fallout 4 announcement, it won’t be at this upcoming GamesCon. Pete Hines unequivocally closed the door on that just last week.
While I have your interest, though, what would you like to see in Fallout 4? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
