Petroglyph's game is called Rise of the Immortals, and they've apparently been working on it for quite some time. I've never played a single match of DOTA or any of its clones, so there's not much I can personally chime in on here. However, did you know that Empire at War was actually a remake of an early Star Wars game from the 90's called Rebellion (Supremacy in the UK)? It wasn't very good. Empire at War really improved on it, though! It's a shame Universe at War was such a mess, it had a ton of potential.
