Update: Spec Ops: The Line devs Yager is developing the title, which is slated for release in spring 2015 for the PS4, PC, and Xbox One.
Original post follows:
Deep Silver announced Dead Island 2 through a debut trailer released during Sony's E3 press conference. It was a far cry from the usual tone of Dead Island trailers we've seen in the past.
Instead of pulling player's heartstrings with an emotionally charged video, Deep Silver elected to create a more humorous black comedy approach to their promotion. This is a refreshing change since the trailers for the last two games were more serious.
It's worth noting that Dead Island 2 is not the second game in the franchise. That would be Dead Island: Riptide and it was also done by the same developer and publisher.
There's still no word on which platforms it will be available on and when it will be released.
